Step 1: Select the Rows to Group
Start by flexing those selecting skills and choose the rows you want to group. To select multiple rows, click on a row number and drag downwards to include the other rows you want to group.
In our example, we clicked on row 5 and gracefully dragged our cursor downwards to highlight rows 6 and 7 as well.
Step 2: Group the Rows with Ease
Now it’s time to work your magic! Right-click on one of the highlighted rows, and behold, a menu of wonders will appear. Click on “Show more > Actions on rows” to unlock a sidebar menu full of possibilities.
Choose the enchanting “Group rows…” option that perfectly reflects the rows you have selected (Group rows 5-7), as showcased in our example. Alternatively, if you prefer to be a keyboard wizard, we’ve got your back. Hold down the “Alt” and “Shift” keys (Option and Shift for Mac users) and press the right arrow key to achieve the same result.
Step 3: Embrace the Results
Voila! Your selected rows are now elegantly grouped. Look out for the minus sign (-) with a descending line displayed next to the rows. This chic indicator confirms the successful grouping.
By simply clicking on the minus symbol, you can gracefully collapse the group of rows. And guess what? The symbol magically transforms into a plus sign (+), giving you the freedom to expand the group of rows whenever your heart desires.
