Do you know that with Crawlan, you can transform any element of your Google Sheets into exportable variables and add them as content in your Slides presentations and Docs documents? It’s simply amazing!

What Types of Variables Can You Create?

With Crawlan, you have the ability to create variables for a single cell in your spreadsheet or for a set of multiple cells (a table). Once your variables are created, you can insert each cell as text in all your Slides presentations or Docs documents. If you have created a table, you can either insert each cell as text or insert the entire table. It’s extremely convenient, isn’t it?

How to Create a New Variable?

Now that you know how useful this can be, let me explain how to create a new variable in a few simple steps:

  1. Select the cell or range of cells for which you want to create a variable in your spreadsheet. Once selected, click on the “Add Variable” button.

Select a cell or range of cells and click "Add Variable" to create a variable in your Google Sheets

  1. A modal window will appear with all the customization options.
2.1 Give your variable a name, be creative!
2.2 You also have the option to manually edit the cell or range of cells you selected. For example, if you want to create a new variable for cell A1, enter A1. If you want to create a new variable for the range A1 to B4, enter A1:B4.
You can also automatically detect your selection by clicking the “Update Selection” button.
2.3 By default, the selected sheet is the one you were on when you clicked the “Add Variable” button. To change the sheet, open the sheet where you want to create the variable, then click “Refresh Selection”.
2.4 If the variable you want to create is a table, you have the option to use the first row and first column as headers. This will allow you to easily filter the elements of your table when you need to add them to your Slides presentations or Docs documents. A handy feature, isn’t it?

Congratulations! You’ve just created your first variable. Now you can connect a Slides presentation or a Docs document to insert them.
