1. First, open the Google sheet containing multiple sheets.

2. Click on the sheet you want to download.

Here, you simply need to replace /edit# with /export?format=xlsx& in the URL as shown below:

4. Press Enter.

Now, this particular sheet will download in Excel format. If you want to download it in CSV format, replace /edit with export?format=csv. If you want to download it in PDF format, replace xlsx with pdf and your URL will look like this:

For Excel:

export?format=xlsx

For PDF:

export?format=pdf

This PDF can also be customized by adding additional parameters to the URL. We can include portrait, gridlines, and size in the PDF.

If you want to change the PDF orientation to landscape, here’s how:

If you don’t want gridlines, here’s how:

Method 2: Using the Copy to Spreadsheet option

In this case, what we’re going to do is turn each sheet into a separate spreadsheet, after which we’ll download it as we would for downloading the complete spreadsheet. Let’s do it.

1. Go to the bottom of the Google spreadsheet and click on the down arrow icon on the sheet.

2. Then, from the dropdown menu, click on Copy to > New Spreadsheet.

3. Click on Open Spreadsheet from the pop-up window.

This will open the current sheets in a new Google spreadsheet.

4. In this new Google spreadsheet, click on File > Download, and then select your choice (PDF, CSV, docs, xlsx, etc.).

This method works like an automated process. You just have to execute a bookmark to generate and download individual sheets.

1. Click on the 3 dots in the top right.

2. Click on Bookmark manager.

3. Right-click on an empty area and create a new bookmark with a name like Download Specific Sheet.

4. In the value, paste the following URL:

That way, we have created a bookmark. This script takes the current URL of the browser and if it finds /edit#gid=, it converts it to /export?format=xlsx&gid= and if it doesn’t find /edit#gid=, it displays an invalid Google Sheets URL because every Google Sheets sheet URL contains /edit#gid=.
