Comment masquer et protéger les onglets dans Google Sheets

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Masquer les onglets dans Google Sheets
  2. Protéger les onglets dans Google Sheets

Google Sheets has a feature that allows you to share it with other people. You can also manage permissions for the people you share the Google Sheets spreadsheet with. These people can be editors, commenters, or viewers. Editors can make changes to the Google Sheets spreadsheet. But if you want to prevent a particular tab in Google Sheets from being edited, you can protect it. We’ll show you how to do that later in this article.

Let’s get started.

1. Comment masquer les onglets dans Google Sheets

If you have multiple tabs or sheets in a Google Sheets spreadsheet and you want to hide certain tabs or sheets, you can easily do so. The following steps will show you how:

Masquer un onglet ou une feuille dans Google Sheets

  1. Open the Google Sheets spreadsheet in which you want to hide tabs or sheets.
  2. Go to the tab or sheet you want to hide.
  3. Click the small arrow on that tab or right-click on that tab.
  4. Select “Masquer la feuille” (Hide sheet).

After following the above steps, the selected sheet will disappear from your Google Sheets spreadsheet.

Rétablir les onglets masqués dans Google Sheets

If you want to restore the hidden tabs in a Google Sheets spreadsheet, click on the “Affichage” (View) tab, then click on “Feuilles masquées” (Hidden sheets). You will see all your hidden sheets. Select the sheet you want to display again.

If you have shared a Google Sheets spreadsheet with someone as an editor, they can view the hidden tabs by clicking on the “Affichage” (View) tab. If the person is a commenter or a viewer, they cannot view the hidden tabs.

2. Comment protéger les onglets dans Google Sheets

By protecting a tab in Google Sheets, you can prevent it from being accidentally modified. However, you can still see all the changes made to Google Sheets by opening the version history, but protecting a tab or sheet is preferable to spending time checking the revision history.

Protéger un onglet ou une feuille dans Google Sheets

The following instructions will guide you on how to protect tabs or sheets in a Google Sheets spreadsheet.

  1. Open your Google Sheets spreadsheet.
  2. Go to the tab or sheet you want to protect from modifications.
  3. Click the small arrow on that tab or use the right-click of your mouse.
  4. Select “Protéger la feuille” (Protect sheet).

When you click on the “Protéger la feuille” option, a “Protéger les feuilles et les plages” (Protect sheets and ranges) pane will open on the right side. You will see the following two tabs in this pane:

  • “Plage” (Range): Select this if you want to protect a specific range of cells on the selected tab.
  • “Feuille” (Sheet): Select this if you want to protect the entire tab in your Google Sheets spreadsheet.

Now, enter the “Description” (if you want) and then click the “Définir les autorisations” (Set permissions) button. You can also exclude certain cells or cell ranges from protection. To do this, check the “Sauf certaines cellules” (Except certain cells) box and then enter the addresses of individual cells or cell ranges. In Google Sheets, you can create multiple protections for a specific tab or sheet. That’s why the option to add a description is provided. All protected tabs or sheets will appear in the “Protéger les feuilles et les plages” pane.

When you click the “Définir les autorisations” button, a new window will open showing you the “Autorisations de modification de la plage” (Range permission) options. There are the following two options:

  • Afficher un avertissement lors de la modification de cette plage (Show a warning when editing this range)
  • Restreindre qui peut modifier cette plage (Restrict who can edit this range)

If you select the first option, other people with edit rights can modify your protected sheet. But they will see a warning message informing them that the sheet is protected.

If you select the second option, Google Sheets will show you three more options. You can select one by clicking on the dropdown list.

  • “Seulement vous” (Only you): If you select this option, only you can edit the protected sheet.
  • “Personnalisé” (Custom): This option allows you to select the people who can edit the protected tab or sheet in the Google Sheets spreadsheet.
  • “Copier les autorisations d’une autre plage” (Copy permissions from another range): Select this option if you want to set the same permissions from a different tab or sheet to the target tab or sheet.

This way, you can protect a specific tab or sheet in your Google Sheets spreadsheet. If you protect the entire sheet or tab, a lock icon will appear.

If you want to modify the permissions of the protected tab or sheet in your Google Sheets spreadsheet, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on the protected tab.
  2. Select “Protéger la feuille” (Protect sheet).
  3. The “Protéger les feuilles et les plages” (Protect sheets and ranges) pane will open on the right side, prompting you to add a new protection. But you need to modify the previous protection permissions. Click on “Annuler” (Cancel).
  4. Now, you will see all the protections you have created before. Select the one you want to modify.

Supprimer la protection d’un onglet ou d’une feuille dans Google Sheets

If you want to remove the protection from the protected tab or sheet, repeat the first three steps above, then select the protected sheet in the list that you want to disable. Now, click on the “Supprimer” (Remove) icon. A confirmation window will appear, click on “Supprimer” (Remove) to confirm.

Pourquoi mes onglets ont-ils disparu dans Google Sheets?

This happens when you are working on a shared Google Sheets spreadsheet and you are not the owner of that spreadsheet. If the owner of the Google Sheets spreadsheet has hidden certain tabs, you will not see them in the spreadsheet. If you want to see which tabs are hidden, go to “Vue > Feuilles masquées” (View > Hidden sheets). You can only view hidden sheets or tabs in Google Sheets if you have edit access.

Pouvez-vous supprimer des onglets dans Google Sheets?

Yes, you can delete tabs in Google Sheets. To do this, right-click on the tab you want to delete and click on “Supprimer” (Delete). Click OK to confirm. After deleting a tab in Google Sheets, you can recover it using the version history.
